The building has been cultivated over the course of the semester as an architectural response to natural forces such as water and daylight as well as integrating the program of a community recreation center. The project is located in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan and is situated in Ashmun Bay Park. The informed design of the roof is based on the movement of water using slopes and green roofs to filter the water into a closed-loop system that services the building's water supply. The Living Building Challenge was an main influence on the pursuit of an integrated water harvesting, treatment, and usage plan.
