"The Department of Design has an exciting collection of professional design programs that focus on bringing technology into relation with human needs and societal development. Each individual program is made stronger through its relationship and interactions with adjacent programs in this unique academic collection of design disciplines. Starting in the first year, students are exposed to technology and critical thinking not only focused on physical and digital tools but also thinking structures and conceptual tools. It is our hope that our students move into professional practices that positively affect the lives of those around them where they do not forget that design is first and foremost about people.
