Curwood Place

Major

Interior Design [BS]

Description

Curwood Place will be a multi use building where the apartments on the second floor are fully furnished corporate housing units, with the first floor being occupied by a Bistro for the Owosso community to gather, and the basement is home to classrooms used by the Art Center. The apartments are to create a home away from home for short term visitors. The space will offer comfort with clean and updated appliances that compliment some of the existing charm of the building. It also will create a calm environment by using soft colors along with natural wood tones. Historic elements will be highlighted to pay homage to the historic city of Owosso. Meanwhile, the concept for the restaurant is to create a french style bistro that has a light and airy feel. Windows along the exterior will offer a plethora of sunlight to brighten the space. To take advantage of Owosso’s beautiful warm season, the existing garage doors will be used to reveal outdoor seating that faces the river and walking path. The space will allow for family and friends to gather and enjoy seasonal dishes.
