Texture, Depth, & Brand: Vans
DescriptionI selected Vans as the company I focused on. For my brand campaign, I wanted to showcase the energetic and grunge element of Vans' "Off the Wall" slogan.
To do this I used the wrinkles and folding of a reusable Vans checkered tote bag to create fake mountains, as seen in the snowboarding photo, or barriers that would highlight the athlete, as seen in the BMX photo. As well as used the shallow depth of field of the scanner to make the scanned shoes look as if they were moving.
To further enhance the grunge aspect, the text used on the images was physically scanned in. The straight text was pulled directly from the reusable tote bag, while the curved text was pulled from the Vans logo sticker. As well as, I removed all colors from the images, other than red, which I adjusted to match the red in the Vans sticker.
