DescriptionThe Soo Health and Sports Hall emerges as a beacon of sustainable design and community vitality in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Nestled at the crossroads of the Great Lakes region, the facility pays homage to the area's rich industrial past while embracing a sustainable future.
Strategically situated to capture breathtaking views of the St. Marys River and seamlessly integrated into the city's park system, the hall invites residents and visitors alike to engage in a myriad of activities that promote health and well-being. Upgraded docks and boardwalks, versatile activity courts, and scenic walking circuits blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings, fostering a sense of unity and connection among users.
Inside, an emphasis on natural daylighting and premium vistas enhances the indoor experience, with skylights and thoughtfully oriented windows framing picturesque landscapes. Locally sourced timber and steel, reflective of the region's natural and industrial heritage, form the backbone of the structure, contributing to a sustainable supply chain and supporting the local economy.
The project’s commitment to renewable energy is underscored by extensive photovoltaic arrays, strategically placed to harness solar energy, and drive the facility towards net-zero energy consumption.
The Soo Health and Sports Hall promises not just a space for physical activity but a symbol of sustainable progress and community pride, embodying the vibrant spirit of Sault Ste. Marie.
