Curwood Place Renovation
MajorInterior Design [BS]
DescriptionThe Curwood Place renovation, located in Owosso Michigan, is a mixed use building that consists of an Italian restaurant on the first floor and 9 apartment units on the second floor. The apartments aim to create a comfortable space for residents to relax at the end of their day. These modern apartments will provide an overall feeling of cleanliness, while still maintaining a serene environment. Natural textures, such as wood and stone, are used to emulate an upscale atmosphere, yet will still feel timeless in order to be enjoyed for years to come. A private gym is available for residents to use in the basement. The Italian restaurant, Scarpetta, is inspired by Italian culture as it translates to “little shoe” in Italian and refers to the way bread is used to scoop up sauce at the end of a meal. This informal tradition encapsulates the family friendly atmosphere that is found in Owosso. The restaurant provides a feeling of classy high-end dining while still highlighting historic qualities of the existing building. This modern take on a traditional Italian restaurant creates an intimate atmosphere that incorporates biophilic and natural elements, wood finishes and earth tones where people can enjoy their meals with family and friends.
