Application Process

Step 1: Apply for Admission

Students can start to apply for admission for the upcoming academic year. Students who submit a full and complete application for admission by the posted deadlines will be considered for merit scholarships.

Step 2: Complete Your FAFSA

Use Lawrence Technological University’s Federal School code (002279) in order to complete and submit your FAFSA. For detailed help filing your FAFSA, get help here [link to A1016].

Step 3: Accept Your Awards

  • Go to www.ltu.edu/bannerweb
  • Click ‘Login to Secure Area’
  • User ID (student’s ID # w/out initials, 9 digits)
    • First time login- the PIN is the student’s birth date (mmddyy)
  • Login
  • Click ‘Student & Financial Aid’
  • Click ‘Financial Aid’
  • Click ‘Financial Aid Self-Service’
  • Click ‘Award offer’
  • Select appropriate academic school year
  • Scroll through types of aid and offers’
  • Select either:

    Accept/Decline/Modify for each specific award

  • Hit Submit
  • Submit Decision

Step 4: Complete the Process for Securing the Loans You Wish to Take Entrance Counseling for Students Loans

  • Go to https://studentaid.gov/
  • Sign in with the requested information
  • Select ‘Complete Entrance Counseling’
  • Save the confirmation page for your records
  • Master Promissory Note (MPN) for Student Loans
  • Go to https://studentaid.gov/
    • Sign in with the requested information
    • Select ‘Complete Loan Agreement’(MPN)
    • Select ‘Subsidized/Unsubsidized’

Master Promissory Note (MPN For Parent PLUS loans

Parent PLUS loans are credit based loans that parents can apply for in addition to student loans.

  • Get started: https://studentaid.gov/
  • Log onto www.studentaid.gov
    • Click on Parent Borrowers
    • Click on Complete PLUS Counseling
  • Sign in with the requested information
  • Select ‘Apply for a Parent Plus loan’ ’
  • Indicate the amount of funds you want to borrow
  • Lawrence Tech will receive an electronic document with the information necessary to process a PLUS loan for you. Be sure to Plus Counseling is required

Complete the Parent PLUS Master Promissory Note (MPN)

  • Go to https://studentaid.gov/
  • Sign in with the requested information
  • Select ‘Complete Loan Agreement for Parent Plus loan’(MPN)
  • The parent who applies for the loan must be the same parent to complete the MPN

Step 5: Entrance Counseling

Step 6: Student and parent borrowers of federal loans have the right to cancel their loan disbursements within 14 days of the disbursement notice. Should you decide to cancel the disbursement of your Federal Direct Loan, you should contact the One Stop Center at enrollmentservices@ltu.edu in writing within the specified time period. By canceling the disbursement, you will be responsible for any unpaid tuition and fees, as well as repayment of loan funds already paid to you.

Any excess funds will be refunded to student borrower from Business Services with in 14 days of a credit balance on their accounts

Use Your Cell Phone as a Document Camera in Zoom

  • What you will need to have and do
  • Download the mobile Zoom app (either App Store or Google Play)
  • Have your phone plugged in
  • Set up video stand phone holder

From Computer

Log in and start your Zoom session with participants

From Phone

  • Start the Zoom session on your phone app (suggest setting your phone to “Do not disturb” since your phone screen will be seen in Zoom)
  • Type in the Meeting ID and Join
  • Do not use phone audio option to avoid feedback
  • Select “share content” and “screen” to share your cell phone’s screen in your Zoom session
  • Select “start broadcast” from Zoom app. The home screen of your cell phone is now being shared with your participants.

To use your cell phone as a makeshift document camera

  • Open (swipe to switch apps) and select the camera app on your phone
  • Start in photo mode and aim the camera at whatever materials you would like to share
  • This is where you will have to position what you want to share to get the best view – but you will see ‘how you are doing’ in the main Zoom session.
