Information for faculty and staff

Course scheduling and attendance policies for faculty and staff

The Scheduling Team within Enrollment Services helps with scheduling courses, updating the course catalog, assigning appropriate classrooms and facilities. It is important to faculty to understand the policies and forms necessary to provide any changes or preferences necessary for the semester to run smoothly.

Proposing or updating courses

Faculty members may propose new courses, inactivate or revise current courses or reactivate a former certificate, concentration or minor.

Academic room scheduling

The Scheduling Team with Enrollment Services works closely with all academic departments, as well as Disability Services, to identify and schedule suitable classrooms.

Time block schedules

Departments are required to use the specified time blocks when offering their courses.   The scheduling team cannot enter any classes that deviate from these times unless an exception or agreement has been made.

Non-attendance process

It is very important for instructors to notify Enrollment Services if a student stops attending or never attended a class, including online courses.

Minimum enrollment

LTU maintains minimum enrollment requirements for a full course that differ by level and semester. Under-enrolled courses are reviewed to determine if they should be canceled, combined or remain as under-enrollled.
