Distributed computing is a technique that enables multiple computers to work together in solving a common problem. It is popular for its capability of processing a large amount of data in distributed nodes. Coding theory has proven to be an effective tool in areas such as distributed storage, cryptography, and communication systems. In this talk, we will explore how coding theory is leveraged to mitigate stragglers and enhance the fault tolerance of distributed systems. Additionally, we will analyze the performance improvements in distributed systems achieved through coding techniques.
