Michigan’s First Wireless Laptop Campus

All Lawrence Tech freshmen received high-end laptop computers in 2000, beginning a four-year roll-out that ultimately provided all undergraduates with custom-configured laptops with the cost included in their tuition. By 2002, the University’s wireless system had expanded to include the entire campus, indoors and out -- the first Michigan college or university to offer that convenience. Lawrence Tech is still one of the largest wireless networks in the Midwest.
