Southfield, Mich. - Tim Chavis has been named executive director of the Information Technology Service Delivery (ITSD) Department at Lawrence Technological University. He heads up a staff of 20 responsible for the campus IT network, the phone system, software applications, and all the computers issued to students, faculty and staff through the Help Desk.

Chavis had been working for CSC/Covansys at the Henry Ford Health System where he was executive director in the information technology area. Previously he was the chief information officer at Bon Secours Cottage Health Services in Grosse Pointe, where he worked in various IT and finance roles since 1989. He also worked with the IT unit of the Detroit Medical Center.
