Senior Service Civilian Fellowship Program (SSCF)

The College of Management begins the third year of the SSCF program this July in collaboration with the Defense Acquisition University and TACOM Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC).  This year,  candidates from both the Army and Air Force will participate having been selected by TACOM LCMC in Warren, Michigan and Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio on the basis of their senior leadership potential.

The candidates are all civilian leaders working for the military.  

The SSCF program:

  • Provide a Master's degree upon completion of the program. 
  • Offers graduate course work that provides candidates with leadership training and skills that will prepare them for global leadership responsibilities at senior levels within the military. 
  • Includes a significant research component in the program that will enable the candidates to conduct independent, credible research.
  • Offers mentor and research advisors for the candidates. 

Why the College of Management at Lawrence Technological University was selected: 

  • Lawrence Tech provided the Army and Air Force with a special, customized master's degree program and curriculum in global leadership and management.
  • The custom degree program places heavy emphasis on global leadership and on developing these skills in the individual candidates.  
  • Candidates are provided opportunities to assess their leadership styles, abilities, strengths and weaknesses and to formulate life-learning plans for enhancing their leadership abilities throughout their careers. 
  • Course work is taught by Lawrence Tech faculty with doctoral degrees and extensive practical experience in commerce and industry. 
  • Candidates are assigned mentors to provide educational and career guidance throughout the program. 
  • Candidates are assigned a research advisor.
