(Free airfare from LAX to China, free room and board, free ground transportation in China, free weekend excursions)
This program brings native English speakers to China to teach English and American culture to Chinese students, ranging from elementary through high school. Program participates team teach their own class for six hours a day, six days a week. Host schools provide free weekend tours and excursions for visiting teachers. Curriculum topics are provided, but curriculum modification and development are done by the program participants before the trip. Students live in hotels near the school sites, in developed areas of China. Meals are provided by the host schools.

Service Learning in South Africa
Cape Town, South Africa

Estimated Cost: $1295 program fee plus monthly expenses
This program is organized by Connect-123 and facilitates volunteer and service learning opportunities in a range of fields including business, education, engineering, health care, human rights, journalism, social work, and sustainable development. Connect-123 will work with interested students to identify their skills and in which projects they would be most useful. Past projects have included rebuilding homes, working in refugee camps, tutoring, rebuilding schools, teaching English, working in orphanages, and other hands-on work.
Connect-123 provides high-end housing that includes linens, equipped kitchen, TV, DVD, wireless Internet access, and twice-per-month maid service.

Volunteer Abroad
Locations vary: 20 sites in 12 different countries

Estimated Cost: $3,000-$6,000, depending on length of the program (group discounts are available)
(Fee includes lodging, meals, in-country transport, international phone calls, and travel medical insurance)
Volunteer Abroad is the flagship program of Cross-Cultural Solutions; it is a short-term international volunteer experience, designed with flexibility and individual attention in mind.
Participants can choose where to volunteer, when to leave and how long to participate, and receive personalized Volunteer Abroad placement. Volunteers work in orphanages and child care centers, schools, health clinics and hospitals, homes for the elderly, centers for people with disabilities, and other community organizations.
