| Bridging Communities, Inc |
Bridging Communities, Inc., is a grassroots collaboration of Southwest Detroit businesses, labor organizations, churches and residents working together to create a society where people live together in tolerance, compassion, civility, and respect. |
Volunteers will assist with elder home beautification. Tasks may include exterior painting and cleaning of empty lots. |
| Gleaners Community Food Bank (Detroit) |
Gleaners provides over 25 million pounds of food to more than 300 nonprofit agencies throughout southeastern Michigan. This nutritious surplus food is provided to us from food distributors, food markets, and donations from food drives. |
Volunteers will help sort and pack donated food items that will be delivered to local charities and shelters. |

Grace Centers of Hope is a shelter that focuses on assisting individuals and families in poverty. |
Volunteers will assist on Seneca Street homes. Tasks may include painting, yard work, and minor home building. |
| South Oakland Shelter |
SOS provides temporary emergency housing to those in need and to remove them from the cycle of homelessness. |
Volunteers will assist with a number of tasks such as sorting donations, assisting the front desk, clerical activities, and building renovations. |
| Oakman Elementary |
Oakman is a K-5 elementary school located in Dearborn. They are a Title I school where 95% of the students are ESL students. |
Volunteers will assist with painting bulletin boards throughout the school, organize the parent materials, and organize the math and science cabinets. |
| Maybury Elementary |
Maybury is a K-5 elementary school located in Dearborn. They are a Title I school where 90% of the students are ESL students. |
Volunteers will assist with various painting projects throughout the school. |
| Capuchin Soup Kitchen |
The Capuchin Soup Kitchen serves the poor who suffer from the lack of basic human needs: material needs, such as food, clothing, and household necessities; psychological needs, such as motivation, self-esteem, and rehabilitation; and social needs, such as support systems and meaningful relationships. |
Volunteers will assist with sorting donations, packing food items and working with clients. |
| Habitat for Humanity |
Habitat for Humanity helps to provide adequate housing, brings together people from all walks of like to revitalize Detroit neighborhoods through construction of decent, affordable homes. |
