Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion Partnership
Lawrence Tech is collaborating with the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion (MRDI) to provide programming to support the diversity and leadership initiatives for students.
MRDI affects change in southeast Michigan by empowering leaders through dialogue, educational training, and organizational development principles, to build more inclusive communities, schools, business and institutions. MRDI has a strong history of success in the delivery of diversity programs and services.

- September 16, 2008
- October 21, 2008
- November 18, 2008

Student Group Diversity Leadership Retreat
MRDI will also design and facilitate a two-day Diversity Leadership Retreat for up to 100 student leaders representing different organizations at Lawrence Tech. The retreat will be designed to:
- Build bridges of understanding between the many diverse groups and cultures in the community so as to break down walls of misunderstanding and distrust.
- Develop the leadership skills of the student participants in the context of identifying diversity issues relevant to Lawrence Tech.
- Create the cross cultural and university-wide connections necessary for strengthening the social fabric of the university community.
- Establish effective collaborations between student groups and identify strategies for addressing diversity issues at Lawrence Tech.
MRDI has been building bridges and nurturing cross-cultural collaborations for more than 60 years. The focus of each program remains on increasing understanding and respect among all cultures and groups.
