President and CEO of Savance in Livonia. Savance creates custom software, hardware, and processes to increase office efficiency in various industries. Bardocz founded the company immediately after graduating from college to create software for remote inventory management and replenishment for the McNaughton-McKay Electric Co. He had a co-op position with the company through what is now Kettering University, where he ultimately earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Savance offers several network integration services and custom software, including EIOBoard, an electronic in/out board to monitor the status of employees, and Datamiser, which collects critical plant floor data. While starting Savance and working with the company part-time, Bardocz took a position with GE Medical Systems as a senior software engineer supporting key development initiatives, database design, and project management. He has worked at Savance full time since 2003 and the company has experienced double-digit growth each year.

MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSONS: "My mom – she’s dedicated and hard-working and believes in goals and working toward them. Another would be Bill Gates, for his example of chasing after something you believe in and doing it with your heart and mind."

LAST BOOK READ: "Probably a computer magazine. I spend a lot of time with email and reading online."

WORDS THAT DESCRIBE ME: "Ambitious, dedicated, hard-working, and family-oriented."

WHERE MY FIELD/INDUSTRY IS HEADED: "Fully-automated with the assistance of computers and technology but still with a personal touch. A lot of people have to do a lot more with a lot fewer resources and funding, and hence the challenge is to be lean, efficient, and as automated as possible."

FAVORITE TECHNOLOGICAL GADGET: "Definitely my cell phone. I can get email, surf the Web, and obviously use the phone."

FAVORITE PLACE: "I would have to say on the couch with the laptop."

MY HIDDEN TALENT: "Flying. I don’t think a lot people know that I flew for a while as a pilot."
