DAN BEHM:
President of OST (Open Systems Technologies, Inc.) in Grand Rapids. Behm and Jim VanderMey started the company in 1997, and Behm has served as president ever since. Initially, OST was a $5 million hardware sales company that depended heavily on one partner. Behm diversified OST, transforming it into a $55 million leader in the industry. Today, it is a technology company driven by software and service in four growing economic sectors: healthcare, manufacturing and distribution, finance and insurance, and enterprise technology. In the past two decades, Behm has worked with more than 500 customers and partners. Previously, he worked at G/S Leasing Inc., where he was part of the leasing team for five years before starting two technology companies and eventually OST. He began his career with a 10-year stint at IBM. Behm was named the 2011 Ernst & Young LLP Entrepreneur of the Year in the technology category for the Michigan and northern Ohio region. The company was named to CRN's 2011 VAR500 list and is ranked the No. 1 software developer in West Michigan by the
Grand Rapids Business Journal for the second year in a row. Behm serves on the advisory board for the HP division of Arrow ECS, an $800 million distributor of HP hardware and software. In 2009 he was named to a three-year term as a director of the Metro Health Foundation. Behm received his bachelor's degree in business administration with honors from Michigan State University's Eli Broad School of Business.
