VINAY GUPTA:
Founder and CEO of Janeeva Inc. in Ann Arbor. Janeeva provides outsourcing relationship management software to users and providers of outsourcing services. Prior to founding Janeeva in 2004, Gupta was entrepreneur-in-residence at Ardesta, serving as president of three venture-backed companies: Sensicore, which provides microelectromechanical system (MEMS)-based chemical sensors for blood and water diagnostics; Discera, which provides MEMS components for wireless devices; and Translume, which creates femtosecond laser-based integrated optical components. He continues to serve on the board of directors of Translume. Gupta also co-founded BlueGill Technologies, an Internet infrastructure company that specializes in Internet billing software, in 1996. BlueGill was sold to CheckFree Corp. in 2000 for $250 million, making it one of the most successful IT startups in Ann Arbor history. Following the acquisition, Gupta served as vice president of operations for CheckFree i-Solutions. He has also held management positions at Cabletron Systems, NCR Corp., Computer View Inc., and Zenith Data Systems. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Delhi and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
