President of ImageSoft Inc. in Southfield. Bade is responsible for the overall management and direction of ImageSoft, which provides technology to automate, streamline, and improve workplace processes, increase productivity, and reduce operating costs. The company, with two offices in Michigan, and one each in North Carolina and Oregon, serves customers throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico and has been growing through acquisitions and major contracts in the government, health care, and insurance sectors. Customers include Time-Warner Cable, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Wayne and Genesee counties, and the Canadian Automobile Association of South Central Ontario. For more than 20 years, Bade has designed and deployed image and document management systems for some of the largest corporate and government agencies in the Midwest. Previously, he was president of DMS ideas, which merged with ImageSoft in 2000. He also worked in the computer software industry as a reseller for FileNet Corp. and account manager for Pyramid Solutions. ImageSoft was recognized as one of the fastest-growing privately held companies in 2008 and 2009 by Inc. Magazine. Corp! Magazine selected it as one of Michigan’s Economic Bright Spots and it was named among the 2010 “Michigan 50 Companies to Watch,” an awards program sponsored by the Edward Lowe Foundation and presented by Michigan Celebrates Small Business. For the past three years, ImageSoft also has been chosen as one of Metropolitan Detroit’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For. Bade is a certified document image architect and a charter recipient of the Association for Information and Image Management Master of Information Technology award. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Western Michigan University.

MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSONS: “First and foremost, my parents instilled my work ethic. My grandfather was an entrepreneur so I was influenced by him. Also, colleagues. I have really good people working with me now who I get a lot of help from. My current executive team, most of whom are older and more experienced. And one vendor, Hyland Software. I’ve been influenced by their executives. A.J. Hyland is someone I look up to.“

LAST BOOK READ: “An autobiography of Andre Agassi called Open I also just finished a book called Thinner by Stephen King. We read a lot of different sales books here at work, too.”

WORDS THAT DESCRIBE ME: “Creative thinker, hard worker.”

WHERE MY FIELD/INDUSTRY IS HEADED: “We’re in the efficiency business so it’s a never-ending quest as far as growth. Our industry, the document management industry, is really exploding. There are a lot more opportunities. Many have not adopted document management and workflow technology, so in the coming years, you’ll see explosive growth in the industry.”

FAVORITE TECHNOLOGICAL GADGET: “My iPhone. I like it a lot.”

FAVORITE PLACE: “Northern Michigan, the Charlevoix area, and anywhere on the water.”

FAVORITE HOBBIES: “Tennis, golf, and boating.”

FAVORITE FOOD: “I like a good steak and most any kind of seafood.”

MY HIDDEN TALENT: “I’m pretty good at coming up with out-of-the-box ideas – kind of like the wacky scientist at work who dreams up things.”

HOW I WANT TO BE REMEMBERED: “I’d like to say I raised two great kids and created a great company which helped a lot of people become more efficient and provided jobs for a large number of people.”
