With this staff support, you’ll find it easier to acclimate to college life and develop valuable time and stress management skills.

Each residence hall has a professional, fulltime residence hall coordinator, a community leader on each floor, and a staffed Information Desk. The residence hall coordinator is a full-time University employee responsible for supervising the staff and supporting residents.

FYE FLOORS

The First Year Experience (FYE) residential program integrates the curricular and extra-curricular experiences of first-year students in order to enhance their academic and personal development.  The FYE program provides first year students with opportunities to interact with peers, to connect with a mentor, and get involved in campus life.  Activities focus on academic adjustment, social and volunteer activities, and avenues for leadership.  Resident Mentors live on each FYE floor and provide specialized help to freshmen with academic concerns.

BUILD YOUR OWN COMMUNITY

This program allows students the opportunity to create their own special-interest housing community.  Groups of 15 or more students with a common interest can submit a proposal to live together on a floor and develop programs and activities based on their shared interest.

RESIDENCE HALL ASSOCIATION

The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is the governing body within the residence halls.  All residents are considered members of RHA. RHA plans activities and opportunities for the residential community, representing the students’ interests on issues, and serves as a liaison between the students and the administration.

TRANSFER AND GRADUATE STUDENTS

Transfer and graduate students with 30 or more credits are housed with other students at their academic level who share similar interests and academic aspirations. The community leader on their floor can help in making connections with peers, planning social events, and providing other resources and referrals pertinent to transfer and graduate student needs. A limited number of single suites are available each year for transfer and graduate students.
