Detroit is known for its fascination with sports of all kinds. Professional basketball, baseball, football, hockey--Detroit has it all.
The Detroit Pistons basketball team plays at the Palace in Auburn Hills and the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions play at Comerica Park and Ford Field, located next to each other in downtown Detroit. Minor league games are also held in these arenas.

Museums and Cultural Institutions

Located in Royal Oak, about five miles from campus, the Detroit Zoo is a great weekend excursion. The animals are housed in realistic park-like settings along beautiful landscaped paths.
The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, located in Dearborn, highlight American history and culture and feature a huge outdoor working village and an IMAX theater.
