Industrial Operations Engineering
Welcome to the Industrial Operations Engineering Program!
Some of the greatest achievements in the world have been put together using the principals of Industrial Operations Engineering. Examples of these are the Pyramids of Egypt and NASA’s moon landing. In the past a small miscalculation of the interacting forces of human power and machines would result in destruction from the falling boulders, causing a loss of vital human and material resources. In a modern world we hear of similar catastrophes where the boulders are replaced by financial collapses that have serious ramifications. There is also a global trend of manufacturing migrating to developing countries and a growth of service sector jobs in industrialized countries. These two trends will create a demand for industrial operations professionals in the developed countries such as the USA that provide the necessary investment capital, as well as abroad. Hence at Lawrence Technological University we have created a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Operations Engineering to train students who have a creative mind to develop engineering solutions to the operation of the global enterprise. Students are prepared with a strong understanding of the underlying engineering fundamentals with applications to Manufacturing companies, Insurance Industries, Health Care System, Banking and Financial Sectors and Computers Network Systems. Our faculty work closely with industry and connect Theory with Practice through in class projects. Finally, our students are trained to make professional decisions that are profoundly beneficial to the environment and society.
The program is available to full time and part time students, along with a co-op option that provides industrial experience. Lawrence Technological University maintains a good reputation within the industrial and corporate community. Lawrence Technological University is ranked in the top third of colleges nationwide, by Standard & Poor that provides leaders to America’s most successful corporations.
To promote active learning and personal attention we maintain small class sizes that are offered to provide you the flexibility to fit your schedule. Some of the senior electives can be applied towards masters in other engineering and non engineering programs, thus making it possible for you to move fast through the academic career path.
We thank you for your time and hope to see you soon on campus to further present and discuss this program with you.
