myPassword Self-Service Password Management Tool
Important Notice:
Lawrence Tech is currently changing its email service. During the summer and fall of 2009, Lawrence Tech will transition its email service to Webmail powered by Google. This change temporarily impacts the functionality of the myPassword service.
After your email account has been migrated to Webmail powered by Google, you will not be able to use myPassword to change your email password.
You may continue to use myPassword to change your email password until your email account has been migrated to our new email service. Look here for a migration schedule.
Once your email account has been migrated, you must login to your new email account to change your email password. (For more information about Webmail powered by Google, please visit http://helpdesk.ltu.edu/email.)
Webmail powered by Google passwords currently have no expiration period. If you change your Webmail password, it will remain valid indefinitely, or until IT Services notifies you of a change in email password expiration policy.
If you need to change your email password, login to Webmail by Google. Click on Settings. Then click on the Accounts tab and select Change Password at the bottom of the window. Then create your new email password.
If you cannot remember your Webmail powered by Google password, please contact the Help Desk (248.204.2330, helpdesk@ltu.edu) to have it reset.
In time, myPassword will be enabled to change and reset your email password. IT services is transitioning to a single sign-on system meaning that one username & password will be used to access all campus resources. Once a single sign-on system is in place, myPassword will become fully functional again.
Users who have not been migrated to Webmail by Google, you can keep reading...
If you've ever been away from campus or travelling on university business and couldn't login to your LTU email because you forgot your password, or the password expired, you know how inconvenient it can be to try and have it reset. Now there's a solution.
IT Services has introduced a self-service password management tool: myPassword.
myPassword allows users to change or reset their computer and email passwords from any location with an Internet connection. Users will not be required to visit the Computer Help Desk to have their passwords reset.
To get started, visit the myPassword web page: http://mypassword.campus.ltu.edu and click the ‘Edit my Profile' link. Select and answer two security questions and you're ready to start using myPassword.
Using myPassword is easy. Just follow the instructions online. Or read our documentation.
Please note: If you need help to reset your Blackboard password or BannerWeb PIN, please continue to contact the Computer Help Desk in person at C203 Taubman Student Services Center, by phone 248.204.2330, or by email, helpdesk@ltu.edu. myPassword will only change your computer login and email password.
