Broadcast Journalism 

The Broadcast Journalism Degree Program is a unique and innovative program that is tailor made to facilitate the career goals of each student.  An extraordinary, hands-on approach to communication and writing skills will give journalism students the formidable proficiency they need to succeed.  The curriculum will evolve to reflect the dynamic pace of the journalism industry.  A strong emphasis on civic and social responsibility as well as ethics is the cornerstone of this distinctive program.

The broadcast journalism program is designed to prepare students:

  • To academically, creatively and technically enter the journalism arena with remarkable qualities essential for success;
  • To reinforce critical thinking skills that are vital to achievement in this industry through our core curriculum which gives students an impressive background in masterpieces of literature, philosophy, and social sciences;
  • To establish an impressive background in communication and writing skills that will distinguish them from other reporters and broadcast journalists and serve them throughout their career;
  • To reinforce their ethical and moral obligation to the local and global community;
  •   To document their creative and technical ability in a portfolio that represents the best of their creative work.

Mentoring by expert faculty, internships and exciting opportunities to expand the students’ base of expertise will be provided.
