|The Summer Abroad Program is intended to provide the opportunity to explore the architectural and urban fabric and literature of the internationally renowned city, and to expose students to the rich history and culture of the Paris environment. |
Students will explore Paris and late twentieth century architecture through an international architectural design studio and seminar. A Paris-based design project will be initiated in the studio and the seminar will seek to give an understanding of the history of architecture and planning, particularly the insertion of the Late 20th Century, contemporary architecture into the historical fabric. Design process explorations, on site studies, guides walking tours, lectures and discussions are part of the Study Abroad Program.
This is a life learning experience that cannot be duplicated through the normal class process on campus. Part of the total study abroad experience is diverse European travel possibilities during the month-long stay in Paris.
