The Academic Achievement Center (AAC) is a support hub for Lawrence Tech students and faculty. LTU students come to the AAC for tutoring in a variety of subjects, to compare notes with classmates, to meet with study groups, or to seek that spark of needed motivation. For many, the AAC is simply a friendly place to be with others. AAC services are FREE to all Lawrence Tech students, staff and faculty. The AAC is located on the lowest level of the A. Alfred Taubman Student Services Center in C201.

Monday - Thursday 8:30 am - 8:00 pm
Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday closed
The last day of fall semester tutoring is Friday, December 11. The AAC will be open for self-study and exams during finals week from 8 am - 8 pm Monday - Thursday, December 14 - 17. The AAC will close for the semester at noon on Friday, December 18.

Nicole Huntsperger Program Coordinator nhuntsperger@ltu.edu, 248-204-4123 Nicole is from Seattle, Washington, where she earned her BA in English from the University of Washington and her MA in Adult Education and Training from Seattle University. Nicole worked as interim coordinator of the AAC during fall 2008 and took over as coordinator in February 2009. Nicole takes every opportunity she can to see the world and has been known to purchase international air tickets on the day of travel (helloooo, Paris!). |

Haley Smith High School Tutoring Program Assistant Student Front Desk Assistant hsmith@ltu.edu, 248-204-4122 Haley is a junior at Lawrence Tech pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering. Haley started working as a front desk assistant at the AAC in fall 2008. Haley is involved with the Lawrence Tech's Greek system as Vice President of her sorority. Haley is the coordinator of the AAC's high school tutoring program. Haley is from Rochester Hills, Michigan. |

Greg Sikora, gsikora@ltu.edu, 248-204-4120 Scholars Tutor Coordinator AAC Student Front Desk Assistant Greg is from Utica, Michigan and is a senior at Lawrence Tech working toward a dual major in Architecture and Interior Architecture. Greg has been a student assistant at the AAC since November 2007, and he also serves as the Tutor Coordinator for the Scholars Program. In addition to being a Facebook maestro, Greg is President of OUT! at LTU with Friends and is Director of SPAM (Students Planning Activities Monthly). |

Gania Kandalaft, gkandalaf@ltu.edu Student Front Desk Assistant 248-204-4120 Gania joined the AAC staff in July 2009 after having worked as a student assistant at Lawrence Tech for the WPE Director and the HSSC department. Gania is from Farmington Hills, Michigan, where she still lives. She is a senior, dual-majoring in architecture and interior architecture. Gania enjoys photography, music, and travel, as well as sunsets and long walks on the beach. Her favorite color is blue. |

Rob Meneghin, rmeneghin@ltu.edu Rob is finishing up his last year of undergraduate studies at Lawrence Tech with a major in Business Management. He has been a front desk employee at the AAC since fall of 2007 and also works at Newmark Knight Frank as a Research Analyst. Rob currently resides in Farmington Hills and is a brother of Sigma Pi Fraternity, International. Rob loves cheese! |

Sterling Russell, srussell@ltu.edu Workshop Facilitator Professor Russell earned her BA in English and MA in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Michigan. She also holds an Education Specialist degree from Wayne State University. She began teaching in 1971 at Huron High School in Ann Arbor and taught there for 4 years. Mrs. Russell left there to teach English and math for a year in Mwanza, Tanzania, East Africa. Upon return to the states, she became the director of Guidance and Counseling at St. Martin De Porres High School in Detroit. In 1989, Mrs. Russell became the assistant principal of Birney Middle School in Southfield. In 2004, she became that school's principal, retiring in 2007 after 18 years with the district. Professor Russell owns an editing and proofreading company called Maranza Consulting and works on various editing projects through it. Professor Russell has been married to her husband, Ira, an engineer, for 33 years. They have 2 children, both of whom are engineers. Mrs. Russell is a Southfield resident. |
